Spike in enquiries driving national growth
Laundry Lady CEO, Susan Toft, says the business has gone from strength-to-strength over the last year, despite COVID lockdowns.
“As an essential service, we have continued to operate Australia wide,” Susan explains.
“We’ve experienced the opposite of many businesses, where our enquiries have increased and we’ve had to put on additional contractors to keep up with demand.”
Laundry Lady’s customers consist of a mix of residential and commercial clients, including NDIS participants, aged care facilities and medical practices.
“Our customers enjoy the convenience of having their washing taken care of – whether it’s families or commercial clients – and take advantage of pre-booking regular services.
“It really takes the hassle out of a normally time-consuming chore, and we’re thrilled to now be coming to the Fraser Coast!”
It also means those in Hervey Bay’s tourism and hospitality sector can “get back to business” and day-to-day operations, while Laundry Lady takes care of the linen, towels and uniforms.
Accelerating women (and men) – how Laundry Lady is providing sustainable WFH income opportunities
Laundry Lady’s streamlined booking portal and digital-driven onboarding system has seen it shine in awards programs like the Sunshine Coast Business Awards, Ausmumpreneur Awards, and Telstra’s Best of Business – where it is vying for top title in the Accelerating Women category.
With Hervey Bay and the Fraser Coast added to Laundry Lady’s ever-expanding national footprint, Susan says the business is now looking to recruit even more independent laundry contractors – both women and men.
“Towards the latter part of 2021 and now well into the new year, we opened up recruitment across Queensland, Victoria, NSW, Western Australia and brand new areas like Darwin and Canberra.”
Laundry Lady now boasts a team of 50-plus contractors nationally, including husband and wife teams.
Those interested in working from home (yes! – even when the kids are sleeping) are invited to submit their interest over on the Join the Team page.
Full training and marketing is provided, all with the big-brand backing and ongoing support from head office.
