Laundry Lady has taken home three wins at the national Ausmumpreneur Awards, recognised for B2B Service, Digital Innovation, and Women’s Champion.
The AusMumpreneur Awards, presented by The Women’s Business School, celebrates mothers in business achieving outstanding success in areas such as business excellence, product development, customer service and digital innovation.
The Awards are designed to recognise the growing number of women who successfully balance motherhood and business in a way that suits their life and family – something which resonates with Laundry Lady CEO Susan Toft.
“Laundry Lady is a pickup and delivery laundry service that first started as a way to tackle a common household chore, while providing sustainable work from home opportunities for busy mums like myself,” Susan says.
Since its inception, Laundry Lady has experienced significant growth, expanding its services to thousands of residential, business, and National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) customers across Australia and New Zealand.
“Winning gold in the B2B Service Business category underscores our commitment to meeting the diverse needs of businesses across sectors such as medical, beauty, health, education, hospitality, and property management,” Susan says.
Laundry Lady, which boasts a team of 300+ Laundry Ladies and Lads Australia-wide and can be booked online, is also leading the way in digital innovation, taking out silver in this highly competitive category.
“Our model and the digital systems powering the booking and recruitment process is an industry first,” Susan explains.
“We operate as an online marketplace, matching customers with Laundry Ladies and Lads in their local community,” she says.
This technology enables Laundry Lady to successfully operate a remote workforce from its Sunshine Coast-based headquarters.
Contractors work from home, using their own cars and equipment, ensuring sustainable practices and accommodating the recurring nature of customer bookings.
“We’ve always offered the convenience of online bookings, but in 2023, we rolled out an innovative custom-built digital connection platform that manages every stage of your laundry service and supports our growing team of Laundry Ladies and Lads.”
Laundry Lady was also recognised in the Women’s Champion category at the Ausmumpreneur Awards, with 90% of its team being female.
The Ausmumpreneur Awards were presented at a Gala Event in Melbourne on Friday, August 16 and also streamed online.
