Victorians are being invited to apply for the third round of the state government’s Melbourne Travel Voucher Scheme, with applications opening on March 30.
The 40,000 vouchers released in the initial rounds have already been snapped up, providing a major boost for tourism and hospitality businesses across Greater Melbourne.
Thinking of exploring Victoria’s Yarra Ranges, Dandenong Ranges or stunning Mornington Peninsula? Victorian residents over the age of 18 are eligible to apply, with each household limited to one voucher for the entire scheme.
Vouchers will be offered to Victorian residents to contribute to the costs of accommodation, tourism attractions or tours undertaken in regional Victoria, including the Yarra Valley, Dandenong Ranges, Mornington Peninsula and the Victorian alpine ski resorts.
Victorians who receive a voucher and spend at least $400 on paid accommodation, experiences, tours or attractions during their stay will be eligible to receive a reimbursement of $200 on presentation of receipts.
The program works on a ‘first-come-first-served’ basis and each round will close once all places have been filled for that particular round.
Key dates for the upcoming round are:
- Applications open: 30 March, 2021 10am
- Eligible travel period: 6 April 2021 to 31 May, 2021
- Claim period and cutoff date: 10 May to 14 June, 2021
