The national CPI figures released in late-January indicate that in the December quarter, child care costs increased in every state except Victoria.
According to website Women’s Agenda, Brisbane out of pocket child care costs are now 3.2% higher than they were in June 2018, and a staggering 28% higher than May 2015.
“In Sydney, out of pocket child care costs are 2.7% higher than last year and 20% higher than when the child care reforms were flagged in 2015,” the article said.
At a time when more people are joining the unemployment queue, it’s no surprise that the working from home trend is looking increasingly appealing as we head further into 2021.
