Laundry doesn’t get much credit. It piles up, it never ends, and nobody thanks you for folding the fourth load of the week. So this year, we decided to count it.
Our FY2026 Impact Report shows what happens when someone else does the washing. Spoiler: it’s a lot more than clean clothes.
Why we counted the washing
Here’s a number that stopped us in our tracks. According to the Australian Bureau of Statistics, women spend around four hours a week on laundry, ironing and clothes care. Men spend about half an hour.
Four hours. Every week. That’s a whole afternoon, gone.
And here’s the other side of it. A lot of the women losing those hours are also the women who want to earn, but can’t make a 9 to 5 work around school runs, appointments or caring for someone they love. We sit right in the middle of both. So we wanted to see what difference we actually make.
What we found
Our Laundry Partners are building something real
More than 600 Laundry Partners now run their own business with us across Australia, New Zealand and Canada. 85% of them are women. Most work from home, on their own machine, on their own schedule.
And they stick around. 83.5% of our Partners are still with us a year later. You don’t stay somewhere that long unless it’s working for you.
Nyree, a Laundry Partner in Perth, put it best. She told us the business lets her be the mum her kids need, while giving her the independence she was looking for.
Our customers got their time back
Across FY2026, we handed back more than 450,000 hours to our customers. That’s time for kids, rest, work, or simply not thinking about the washing for once.
Four in five customers come back month after month. We think that says it all. Every order goes to one local Laundry Partner, who gets to know how you like things done. Your laundry never gets mixed with anyone else’s.
For some people, it’s not a chore at all
For an older person living alone, or someone recovering from illness, laundry can be the thing that decides whether they stay in their own home. One customer told us she books for her 90-year-old dad. He leaves his washing outside his door, and it’s back the next day.
We’re an NDIS Registered Provider, and we also support people on Support at Home, aged care and Veterans’ Affairs funding. Every Laundry Partner holds an NDIS Worker Screening Clearance before their first booking.
And it’s not just homes. Clinics, salons, childcare centres and sporting clubs use us too, so the towels and jerseys stop going home in someone’s car.
