Laundry Lady set to double its workforce

Mobile laundry service The Laundry Lady is looking to fill 60 new roles across the country as it prepares for a busy festive season and New Year, including at least 10 openings on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast.

With travel back on the agenda and local events making a welcome return, Laundry Lady is seeking additional part-time and full-time support for its residential and commercial clients.

Laundry Lady offers an affordable startup opportunity for mums, dads, students, job seekers and more.

In the last 12 months alone, the business has grown to 55-plus contractors across four states and, as CEO Susan explains, it’s not showing any signs of slowing down.

“We are actively recruiting throughout the Sunshine Coast in areas like Caloundra, Kawana, Palmview, Palmwoods, Maroochydore, Buderim and Mooloolaba,” Susan says.

“Other areas where we are seeing an uptick in customer demand and need for additional contractors is Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, and brand new location for us, Perth.”

A first in the market, the Laundry Lady offers a pickup and delivery laundry service for busy families, NDIS participants, Airbnb, cafes, restaurants, gyms, sports teams and more.

Those interested in discovering their work-life balance and joining the team (Ladies and Lads welcome to apply) are invited to fill out the easy online application form: www.laundrylady.com.au/join-the-team.

“We’ve set a goal of 60 new recruits to kick off 2022 – doubling our current numbers,” Susan says.

“Having created in excess of 50 jobs in the past year, we are looking forward to delivering our services in even more cities and regional locations.”

Laundry Lady’s streamlined recruitment process, online training portal and unique business model – where contractors work from their own homes, using their own equipment – have seen it shine in programs like the Sunshine Coast Business Awards, where it is a finalist in the Trades and Services and Export categories.

The business also took home two silver trophies in the 2021 Ausmumpreneur Awards (Service Business and Business Pivot) and is vying for top prize in Telstra’s prestigious Best of Business program.

Boasting a full suite of digital marketing, an established booking platform, and contractors ready to go, it’s not just mums and women joining the Laundry Lady team but dads, partners, students, and hospitality workers who may have found themselves out of work.

“Our contractors don’t join us because they love doing laundry; they join us because they want flexibility around their lives,” Susan says.

“By joining us, they get to earn a really good income while working from home and working their own hours.”
