Parent-friendly HQ the way forward for Coast business

Award-winning mobile laundry business The Laundry Lady has relocated to new, larger premises in Maroochydore on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast after six months of stellar growth.

Founded in 2012 by CEO Susan Toft, The Laundry Lady offers a convenient and affordable pickup and dropoff wash, dry, fold and iron service for homes and commercial customers.

With an existing team of contractors across Brisbane, Moreton Bay, Noosa, the Gold and Sunshine coasts, Ipswich and North Queensland, Laundry Lady recently expanded its footprint into Melbourne and Sydney.

As an essential service – helping busy households, cafes, hair salons, gyms, holiday rentals, and NDIS clients with their on-the-go laundry needs – Laundry Lady was able to keep its doors open throughout COVID lockdowns.

The relocation of Laundry Lady’s administrative headquarters will allow for even greater support of its customers, and team of contractors on the ground in Queensland, Victoria and NSW.

Australia-wide recruitment will be a key focus in the months ahead, creating home-based work opportunities for mums, dads, students and job seekers, and taking the stress out of the weekly laundry load!

Co-working arrangement an award-winning recipe

The Laundry Lady is not alone in its success.

It will share the commercial premises from this week with fellow Queensland business, The Milk Pantry, which has carved out a niche for itself in the Aussie market with its all-natural biscuits and brownies for breastfeeding mums.

Headed by Creator & Director Jessica Beveridge, The Milk Pantry has shone at local events like the Sunshine Coast Business Awards and been recognised for its efforts in sustainable operations.

Laundry Lady CEO Susan, who was previously named among Telstra’s 100 Faces of Small Business and a 2020 Ausmumpreneur Silver Award winner, says she is excited to be taking this next step with her business.

“Moving into the larger office space along with Jess and the wonderful team at The Milk Pantry is a major milestone for us,” she says.

“It allows the scope for further expansion in the coming 12 months and beyond, as Laundry Lady targets new markets and really ramps up recruitment nationwide.

“Being in the heart of the Sunshine Coast is yet another bonus, especially with all the promising new infrastructure, business investment, and population growth in the region.”

As Susan and Jess are busy mums themselves, it’s no surprise that the Maroochydore office lends itself to co-working and family life.

They are strong advocates for women in business, employing female trainees, students, and those who may be returning to the workforce after having children.

“We’ve come from a background where our working commitments are built around school drop-offs and sport,” explains Susan.

“This space will not only serve as our operational headquarters and a welcoming walk-in storefront for Milk Pantry, but facilitate flexible working conditions for all our employees.”

To celebrate this landmark collaboration, The Laundry Lady and The Milk Pantry are inviting the community to get involved as part of an exciting Mother’s Day giveaway.
