The Laundry Lady has officially touched down in North America, kicking off our expansion into Canada with a significant visit to Vancouver. From prestigious awards to a major book launch and summit, it was a week full of milestones, and it’s only the beginning of our journey to bring our affordable, reliable laundry services to a new market.
A whirlwind of success in Vancouver
The Canadian trip started with an exciting line-up of events focused on female leadership and global business. Our founder, Susan Toft, flew from Brisbane to Vancouver to attend the Women Changing The World (WCW) Summit and Awards.

Susan participated in a photo shoot for the book ‘Begin it now’, an anthology of courage and inspiration featuring women from around the world. The book includes insights into the ‘why’ behind The Laundry Lady’s business journey.
Women Changing the World Summit & Panel
Susan joined a panel at the Women Changing The World Summit, connecting with amazing business women from Canada, the U.S., and beyond. Discussions focused on owning your voice, attracting aligned opportunities, leading with authenticity, and, crucially, leading with confidence.
Awards triumph
We were deeply honoured at the WCW Awards Presentation! The Laundry Lady secured the prestigious ‘Woman in Tech’ award and claimed second place in the Entrepreneur of the Year category for the Americas component of the awards.
A special mention goes to Jessica Hansen, who won Woman of the Year. Jessica is the Executive Director/CEO of Alliance for Smiles, a fantastic organisation that provides free, life-changing surgeries for children with cleft palates across Africa, Asia, and Central and South America.
