The power of the side hustle: from snail farm to laundry whiz

Busy Toowoomba mum, Shari, was looking for an administration job when she came across the job ad for The Laundry Lady on Facebook.

She is now one of 50-plus people enjoying a newfound work-life balance as a contractor with the award-winning business, which offers pickup and delivery laundry services Australia wide.

Clicking on to a brand new opportunity

“I first saw the ad for The Laundry Lady and thought it would be suitable for me to work from home,” explains Shari.

“Six months on, and I now have a mixture of clients, working Monday to Friday around kindy drop offs and school commitments.”

With training and marketing provided, plus an established online booking platform, Shari says Laundry Lady ticked all the boxes for her.

“I found everything very straightforward. I feel quite lucky to have discovered this opportunity.”

Building a WFH business – grow your income to your goals

Shari is not new to entrepreneurship – successfully running a snail farm in Greenmount, south of Toowoomba, was her original ‘side-hustle’. Check out more on Greenhouse Snails, here.

“The great thing about Laundry Lady is that it fits around everything,” she says.

Laundry Ladies (and Lads!) are able to open up their schedules to days and times that suit them. You can grow your earning potential to your personal goals!

With the ability to have multiple sources of income, and manage her busy family life, Shari encourages other people – especially mums and dads – to “give it a go”.

“I live in a close community, and joining Laundry Lady allowed me to work within the community and the kids to attend the school they love.”
