The Laundry Lady has won the Trades and Services (large business) category at the Sunshine Coast Business Awards, topping off an incredible year of growth for the now national service.
Headquartered in Baringa and with a team of 100-plus Laundry Ladies and Lads working Australia wide, Laundry Lady offers a pickup and delivery laundry service for homes and businesses.
Laundry Lady CEO Susan Toft took to the stage on Saturday night (November 12) in front of a crowd of 850 business and industry guests after being announced winner of the Trades and Services category, sponsored by Omnia Legal.
Earlier this year, Susan was named Corporate Business Woman of the Year at the Sunshine Coast Business Women’s Network Awards, and was a multi-category finalist in the Ausmumpreneur Awards. Laundry Lady has also progressed to the next stage of the highly-competitive Telstra Best of Business Awards – Outstanding Growth category for the second year running.
“Wrapping up the year with this prestigious title is a real win for The Laundry Lady,” CEO Susan Toft says of the latest award.
“I want to thank the event organisers, Sunshine Coast Council, and category sponsors for putting on such an incredible evening, helping to shine a light on the achievements of Sunshine Coast businesses.”
Susan also congratulated her fellow finalists and winners.
“Shoutout to other category winners including Your Brand Crew, Mercure Sunshine Coast – Kawana Waters, and The Organised Creative, who we have collaborated with over the years and built friendships with.
“I also want to acknowledge past winners, OfficeHQ and Laguna Pest Control, who have certainly brought tough competition to our category!”
Laundry Lady, which this month is celebrating an incredible 10 years in business, recently relocated to larger warehouse and office premises in the burgeoning Aura Business Park.
“Our administration team works from our Baringa warehouse, but we have a team of Laundry Ladies and Lads working from their own homes from Perth and Darwin to Brisbane, Melbourne, Canberra, Sydney and Adelaide.”
Contractors work from their own homes and choose their own schedule, completing washing, drying and folding for a range of customers including businesses, busy households, NDIS participants, sporting teams and more.
The Laundry Lady achieved an impressive $2 million revenue milestone this year, a number that’s expected to double in the coming 12 months.
It is also ramping up recruitment (for Laundry Ladies and Lads) thanks to an increase in customer demand for quality and affordable laundry services.
The latest win at the Sunshine Coast Business Awards cements Laundry Lady’s status as a real rising star of the local business community.
It is involved in a number of local chambers, including the Caloundra Chamber of Commerce and 4556 Chamber, and this year was principle partner and official laundry services provider of USC Basketball NBL1 Team, RipCity.
“We’ve come a long way in the last 10 years and can’t wait to see what 2023 brings,” Susan says, adding that Laundry Lady is set to expand into New Zealand come the New Year.
“Watch this space!”
