The Laundry Lady is on a mission to help Aussies clean up — literally and financially — with its flexible, work-from-home contractor model that’s changing lives across the country.
The national mobile laundry service, which offers professional wash, dry, fold and ironing services to residential, NDIS, aged care and business customers, has already welcomed 50 new contractors since the start of the year.
This puts the business halfway toward its goal of bringing 100 new Laundry Ladies and Lads on board to help keep up with the busy Easter demand approaching.
CEO and Founder Susan Toft says the momentum is continuing to build.
“We’ve had an incredible response so far, and to already be halfway to our target in just a few months is a fantastic achievement,” Ms Toft says.
“But we know there are still so many people out there looking for flexible, meaningful work that fits around their life, and we’d love to welcome even more Laundry Ladies and Lads to the team.”
The Laundry Lady model has proven especially popular among parents, career changers, carers and retirees seeking a rewarding alternative to the traditional 9-5.
Recruitment hotspots – could you be our next Laundry Lady or Lad?
Recruitment is ramping up in key locations nationwide, with high demand in areas such as Adelaide (South, CBD and Hills), Brisbane, Sunshine Coast, Perth, and regional hubs like Mt Barker, Gympie, Launceston and Burnie.
Other hotspots include the Central Coast, Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Shoalhaven, Blue Mountains, and various Sydney suburbs including Bayside, Randwick, North Beaches and St George. The business is also actively recruiting in Lithgow, Mornington Peninsula and Canberra.
“While we have some high-priority areas, we’re always looking to grow our network — so we encourage anyone interested, no matter where they’re located, to apply,” Ms Toft adds.
For Sydney mum Liz, joining The Laundry Lady has helped her reclaim work-life balance.
“The Laundry Lady is a great concept that enables you to work for yourself and earn money, and have time to do the things that are important to you and your family,” Laundry Lady Liz says.
Liz, like many other Laundry Lady contractors, found that the support and structure of the model allowed her to build a business around her life — not the other way around.
“Working as a contractor for The Laundry Lady is the one of the best decisions I have made for myself and my family,” she says.
“It is great to be in control of my own workload, customers and bookings.”
With an easy onboarding process, low start-up cost, and ongoing training and support, The Laundry Lady is making it easier than ever for people to start their own business from home.
“We want to empower people to create their own version of success,” Ms Toft says.
“Whether that’s earning a little extra on the side or building a thriving home business, our contractors can shape their work around their life goals and commitments.”
Demand for home services soars
Now operating across Australia and New Zealand, The Laundry Lady continues to grow as demand for home services soars. But the company says there’s still plenty of room for more.
“We’re calling on mums, dads, couples, carers — anyone who’s looking for flexible, home-based work — to join our team,” Ms Toft says.
“You don’t need a laundry or business background, just a willingness to work, a love for customer service, and a desire to create a better lifestyle for yourself.”
